By air, Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is the most convenient option, just a short drive from Patricia Grand Resort. It’s a smaller airport than most coastal destinations, which usually means an easier time getting in and out, though it’s worth checking your airline’s pet policy well ahead of time if your dog is flying with you rather than driving.
By car, Myrtle Beach sits along Highway 17, with reasonably direct routes from most of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. If you’re driving any real distance, plan for a stop every two to three hours — it’s good for your dog’s bladder and honestly good for yours too. Keep water accessible in the car and never leave your dog alone in a parked vehicle, even briefly, especially once the weather warms up.
Once you’re in town, the area right around Patricia Grand Resort is walkable to a fair amount — beach access, a stretch of the boardwalk, and a handful of restaurants — so you don’t necessarily need a car once you’ve arrived if you’re staying local for most of your trip. That said, a car opens up the wider Grand Strand: Huntington Beach State Park, Brookgreen Gardens, and Barefoot Landing are all a short drive rather than a walk.
Traffic gets heavier in peak summer months, particularly around weekend check-in and check-out times, so building in extra time on a Saturday drive is never wasted.
