We’re Michael and Dena — and like a lot of dog parents, we spent years watching the same scene play out. Find a place you love. Get excited. Scroll to the fine print. Not pet friendly.
Back to searching.
We weren’t looking for a place that tolerated our dogs. We wanted somewhere that actually wanted them there — oceanfront, well-designed, thoughtful — where the dog bed wasn’t an afterthought shoved in a corner and the pet fee didn’t feel like a punishment for loving your animal.
That place didn’t exist. So we built it.
Salty Paw Rentals started with one Schnauzer, one condo, and a pretty simple belief: your dog is family, and family doesn’t get left behind.
Today we have two oceanfront properties at Patricia Grand Resort in Myrtle Beach — Lil’ Salty on the 7th floor and The Salty Monkey on the 15th — and every single detail in both of them was chosen with you and your dog in mind. The welcome kit. The balcony setup. The dog bowls. The bed you’ll actually want to sleep in. The view you won’t want to leave.
We think about the things you didn’t know to ask for — because we’ve been the guest who needed them.
This isn’t a side hustle dressed up as a dog-friendly rental. It’s personal. It’s the vacation we always wanted to take, and now we get to share it.
Come stay. Bring the dog. Enjoy every moment.

The Inspiration
Wally
Our original Schnauzer, with rare golden coloring and the love of a lifetime. Wally is the origin story and the emotional anchor of the brand — the quiet reason behind everything. The belief that dogs belong at the beach? That belief is Wally.
Spirit of the Salty Monkey
Goliath
Purple mohawk, no fear, and a firm belief that any attention was good attention. Goliath was our monkey — wild, bold, unforgettable. The Salty Monkey is named after him, and the mascot isn’t replacing Goliath. The Monkey is Goliath, in a form the world can recognize.
Chief Canine Concierge
Belle
14 years old, diabetic, a cardiac arrest survivor, and 8 pounds of pure authority. Belle is the face of Salty Paw Rentals — calm, wise, and quietly heroic. She welcomes every guest dog and writes the canine welcome letter herself. Capable concierge, superhero underneath.
Chief Fun Officer, Original Lil' Salty
Samson
Sampson arrived as the saltiest puppy imaginable — not like the ocean, like a dog with opinions, a resting side-eye, and zero apologies about either. A coworker took one look and said “he’s just a little salty for a puppy,” and Lil’ Salty was born. If Belle handles hospitality, Sampson handles fun, on his own terms.
