Most vacation rentals that say they’re “pet-friendly” mean they’ll let your dog stay without charging you extra for the privilege. At Salty Paw Rentals, we wanted to do something different — which is how Belle ended up with a job title.
Belle is our Chief Canine Concierge, and while she can’t technically respond to emails, she’s very much part of how we think about every guest stay. Before your dog arrives, Belle “writes” a welcome letter addressed to them specifically — a small, slightly silly, genuinely heartfelt touch that guests consistently tell us made the trip feel different from any other rental they’ve booked.
It’s a detail that sounds minor until you’re the one reading it out loud to your dog in the car on the way in. It signals something bigger about how this business is run: that dogs aren’t an afterthought or a line-item fee here, they’re the reason a lot of these details exist in the first place.
Behind Belle are Michael and Dena, the humans actually running Salty Paw Rentals, who built this business specifically because they understood the particular stress of trying to vacation with a dog when most rentals treat that as an inconvenience to be tolerated rather than planned for.
